15th Amelia Island Film Festival Announces 2022 Dates

Features Opening Night Block Party, Premieres, Amelia Icon Awards Gala


Fernandina Beach, FL – The Amelia Island Film Festival today announced its return to theatrical, outdoor, and virtual screens February 24 - 28, 2022 for its 15th edition. As the premiere festival event in the Southeastern United States, the Amelia Island Film Festival welcomes new leadership with incoming Festival Director Megan Stewart and Programming Director Taylor Owenby. Featuring expanded programming, this year’s Festival boasts a variety of screenings, events, and access to leaders in entertainment, with a particular focus on ecological sustainability and platforming diverse voices in the film industry.


“It is our mission to showcase, inspire, support and celebrate creators while connecting the business and financial industry to the growing entertainment ecosphere in the Southeastern United States,” said Megan Stewart, the Director of the Amelia Island Film Festival. The Festival’s Programming Director Taylor Owenby adds, “We are dedicated to supporting the next generation of new voices and perspectives as filmmakers begin their 2022 festival circuit in paradise, the amalgamation of both a scenic island retreat and a world-class film festival, providing an experience unlike any other.”


The Opening Night Block Party and Premiere will be held outdoors on February 24 on Centre Street in downtown Fernandina Beach, and all competition screenings will be held at the B&B Theatres (1132 South 14th St., Fernandina Beach). The 15th Amelia Island Film Festival will present awards in categories including Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, Student Short, International Short, and Hollywood South at the Amelia Icon Awards Gala at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island (4750 Amelia Island Parkway, Fernandina Beach).
