CHICAGO – The future is now at the 2022 CineYouth Festival, taking place this upcoming weekend in person, April 22nd-24th, at FACETS in Chicago. The 17th annual CineYouth features 71 international short films from creators that are children, teens and young adults up to 22 years old. The Festival Director is Ryan Saunders.

The CineYouth Festival, founded in 2005 and presented by Cinema/Chicago (they also facilitate the Chicago International Film Festival), and is held annually in the spring, and like many festivals it’s in-person for the first time since 2019. The festival showcases films created by youth, providing a public platform to highlight the next generation of filmmakers. In addition to short film screenings, CineYouth presents free panels, discussions, networking and other opportunities to inspire creativity in youth. After the in-person event, the Fest will go virtual and online globally from April 25th through May 1st.
