Tickets Now On Sale for Fully-Immersive Weekend-Long Events in Illinois, Wisconsin
CHICAGO, Illinois -- Otherworld Theatre Company, the premier science fiction and fantasy production company in North America, in partnership with Moonrise Games today announced details surrounding two new installments of their popular Live Action Role Playing (LARP) events, ALBION SCHOOL OF SORCERY and CHRONICLES OF THE REALM, to be held in the Spring of 2023. Each LARP weekend is fully-immersive, and includes room, catered meals, character development sessions with the Game Master, and surprises along the way.
“We’re gearing up for Otherworld Theatre and Moonrise’s tenth birthday in 2023,” said Otherworld Theatre Artistic Director and Moonrise Game Master Tiffany Keane Schaefer. “Both of these companies further our mission to bring a theatrical experience to the science fiction and fantasy genre, celebrating the depth of human imagination with engaging, high-quality storytelling for nearly a decade.
“Over the years, our players have built entire worlds for both ALBION SCHOOL OF SORCERY and CHRONICLES OF THE REALM, and their choices play out in these upcoming installments in a way that feels natural to long-time players, while also welcoming first-timers into these universes.”
For one weekend only March 16 - 19, 2023, players return to school in ALBION SCHOOL OF SORCERY: OSTARA, the 3rd installment of the popular ALBION series. A year ago, students unknowingly summoned the Primordial Beasts from the other side of the Veil, and became hosts to the most ancient of magics. Divided in their vision for the world to build, the students formed two factions: the Wizards of the New Order, who yearn for a just and fair government and stand against oppression; and the Acolytes of Ahn, apostate radicals who wish to return the world to the Garden in the first and purest state of the magical world. Amidst the growing threat of an oppressive Magisterium, both groups receive a mysterious invitation to a conclave and can’t help but answer the summons. Racine, Wisconsin’s DeKoven Center reprises its role as Albion School of Sorcery for this LARP.
In the high fantasy CHRONICLES OF THE REALM: LIAISONS & LEGIONS OF NEW LYSTAR July 21 - 23, 2023, the forces of Amelor are preparing to defend its shores against encroaching armies of Invohl. Players travel to Amelor for a two-night, three-day all-inclusive adventure full of high fantasy, exquisite costumes, political intrigue, a royal ball, and the ultimate battle. CHRONICLES OF THE REALM: LIAISONS & LEGIONS OF NEW LYSTARwill be held at the Allerton Park and Retreats in Monticello, Illinois.
ALBION SCHOOL OF SORCERY: OSTARA runs March 16 - 19, 2023 in Racine, Wisconsin. Tickets are $800 each, and include 4 days, 3 nights at the DeKoven Center, catered meals, a custom wand and robe, and participation in all activities and events during the 4-day wizard school adventure including attendance at the Ostara, a night of dancing and revelry.
