One-Night-Only Event Explores Universe From Big Bang to Today

CHICAGO, Illinois -- Otherworld Theatre Company, the premier sci-fi and fantasy theatrical production company in North America, announced today a special one-night-only performance of sci-fi fantasy drag cabaret show HYPERFANTASIA, to be staged Wednesday May 11, 2022.

Employing original music and stunning projected images, HYPERFANTASIA brings queer cabaret to a new level as audiences are guided through time and space by host Tiresias, the blind prophet of the Underworld. Tiresias guides a journey that begins with a reenactment of the Big Bang as a celestial orgasm, continues with an ode to our unicellular bacterial ancestors on Earth, and stages a dance employing the choreography of the mating rituals of birds-of-paradise.

HYPERFANTASIA is created by Evan Silver, who stars as Tiresias. The show features a guest performance by Xo Carrington and technical production by Andrew Ganem. Silver also writes and directs, and composed the show’s original score. HYPERFANTASIA is co-produced by Silver and Otherworld Theatre Company.

HYPERFANTASIA runs approximately 45 minutes. The show will be performed as a one-night-only special event on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at 9 p.m., and tickets are available for purchase at for $20. All attendees including audience members, media, staff and volunteers, and performers are required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of the show date, and masks are required to be worn over the mouth and nose at all times, unless actively eating or drinking.
