Lou Diamond Phillips, Dermot Mulroney, Jason Patric Join Kiefer Sutherland at FAN EXPO Chicago

“Young Guns,” “The Lost Boys” Stars Join Their Costar at Chicago’s Longest-Running Comic Con August 10 - 13, 2023


Chicago, Illinois (July 13, 2023) – Chicago’s longest-running comic and pop culture convention, FAN EXPO Chicago today announced that Lou Diamond Phillips, Dermot Mulroney, and Jason Patric will join the already announced Kiefer Sutherland, for panels focusing on their films, Young Guns and The Lost Boys, respectively. The casts are set to meet and greet fans, offering autographs and photo opportunities, at this year’s show running August 10 - 13, 2023 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Lou Diamond Phillips is a Filipino-American actor and film director. His breakthrough came when he starred as Ritchie Valens in the biographical drama film La Bamba (1987). For Stand and Deliver (1988), Phillips was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and won an Independent Spirit Award. Phillips made his Broadway debut with the 1996 revival of The King and I, earning a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of King Mongkut of Siam. Phillips' other notable films include Young Guns (1988), Young Guns II (1990), Courage Under Fire (1996), The Big Hit (1998), Brokedown Palace (1999), Che (2008), and The 33 (2015). In the television series Longmire, he starred as Henry Standing Bear. He played New York City Police Lieutenant Gil Arroyo on Prodigal Son on FOX from 2019 to 2021.


Since being discovered at Evanston’s Northwestern University, actor Dermot Mulroney has been seen in films including Young Guns (1988), Point of No Return(1993), My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), About Schmidt (2002), Zodiac (2007), and Scream VI (2023). He portrayed Sean Pierce in Showtime’s Shameless (2015-17) and Bobby Sheridan in USA’s The Purge (2018-19), and has a recurring role in Marvel’s Secret Invasion, now playing on Disney+.

Jason Patric is known for his roles in films such as The Lost Boys (1987), Rush, Sleepers (1996), Your Friends & Neighbors (1998), Narc (2002), The Losers (2010), The Alamo (2004), and Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997). His father was actor/playwright Jason Miller and his maternal grandfather was actor Jackie Gleason.


Previously announced highlights of FAN EXPO Chicago 2023 include a time-tripping “Back to the Future” cast reunion featuring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and Tom Wilson; a 40th anniversary reunion of “National Lampoon’s Vacation” cast including Chevy Chase, Christie Brinkley, Anthony Michael Hall, Randy Quaid, and Dana Barron; Star Trek: Picard breakout star Todd Stashwick; pioneering motion capture performer Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars: Andor, Black Panther), legendary director Sam Raimi(Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Evil Dead); Giancarlo Esposito(The Mandalorian, Breaking Bad); legendary artist Frank Miller; Henry Winkler (Arrested Development, Scream, Happy Days); and Katee Sackhoff (The Mandalorian, Battlestar Galactica).


FAN EXPO Chicago runs August 10 - 13, 2023 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
