Richard Dreyfuss to Appear at FAN EXPO Chicago

JAWS, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, WHAT ABOUT BOB?, and MR. HOLLAND’S OPUS Star Appears at Chicago’s Longest-Running Comic Convention August 16 - 18

Chicago, Illinois (May 2, 2024) – Chicago’s original comic con, FAN EXPO Chicago, today announced that award-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss, known for his iconic roles in AMERICAN GRAFFITI, JAWS, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, THE GOODBYE GIRL, WHAT ABOUT BOB?, and MR. HOLLAND’S OPUS is set to appear at this year’s show, running August 16 - 18, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. 

Richard Dreyfuss’s distinguished career boasts iconic roles in major films, first gaining prominence with his role in George Lucas’s AMERICAN GRAFFITI in 1973. His career quickly ascended with standout performances in Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster JAWS in 1975. Dreyfuss won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his charming portrayal of Elliot Garfield in the 1977 film THE GOODBYE GIRL, becoming the youngest actor to win the award then and further cementing his status as a leading man in Hollywood. In the following years, Dreyfuss continued to captivate audiences with his roles in films like the comedy WHAT ABOUT BOB?, playing a beleaguered psychiatrist opposite Bill Murray, and the inspirational drama MR. HOLLAND’S OPUS, where he starred as a passionate music teacher, a role that earned him another Academy Award nomination. 

Dreyfuss joins an impressive roster of previously-announced guests, including Captain James T. FAN EXPO Chicago, the longest-running pop culture convention in Chicago, runs August 16 - 18, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
